Belle Matthews

Belle Matthews one of Canada's great up and coming stars. She is making herself known in a big way and gaining fans fast. It does not take Belle long to gain the attention of anyone in hear shot once she steps out on stage and opens up with the awesome big voice of her's. The power she has is unbelievable, and she uses it very well.

This big voice of her's may have been created from an early start in life singing nursery songs along with her mom. Not long after this she began singing Disney songs from YouTube where they would often have the lyrics that she could follow along with. She has always loved to sing and it shows very well. In the past two years she has been taking singing lessons and now studying her RCM exam for vocals this June.

Like a lot of kids she started off singing at school. In May 2010 she made her first public appearance at the Spring Concert at her school. At this concert she sang, "Almost There" from the Princess and The Frog. She soon made her move on past school and took that amazing voice out to everyone. In September 2010 she performed with a band called, Lisa Smith Powerhaus. They are a well known band around the Toronto area, she performed at the Blue Moon Bar. Her biggest performance so far has been at Youth Day at Dundas Sq. last summer. This was an amazing performance for her, with about 3,000 people watching she sang, "At Last" and she felt very comfortable singing in front of all those people. This is where Belle certainly belongs in front of a huge crowd. Belle got another awesome experience when she went to perform at the Royal York Hotel during Canadian Music week. She was singing in a music contest called The Toronto Superstars and for this she sang, "Who's Loving You". The publicist and producer made  a Toronto Superstars CD with all the contestants songs on it. Belle recorded, "At Last". She said, it was awesome being on that CD and recording in a studio. Belle sure needs to get use to recording in a studio, you can bet she will be spending a lot of time there soon.

Belle might have started out singing nursery songs, but now she is winning awards left and right. She has won the Virtual Next Star, and Belle got to stay at the Radisson downtown and a limousine picked her up and took her to Wonderland to watch the finals for the Next Star. They also did a shout out that she had won, so that Belle would be on TV.  She has also won the National Anthem Challenge for the musical, Hockey, and won the Music Circle singing contest hosted by Deirdre Mallehe.

Etta James and Christina Aguilera are the artists that gives Belle great inspiration. She loves the sound of their voices and the power they have. She says, she just loves covering their songs. Belle does fit right in with these great singers, with her own powerful and amazing voice. It always makes her feel happy when she gets to perform. She is currently writing the lyrics for a song with her dad. He is helping her with the music and teaching her how to write a song with the piano. Her goal is to put out a CD of her own with just her music on it.

Belle is a very amazing artist that everyone needs to hear. Her voice is incredible, and anyone that sounds like her will be around for a very long time.
