Wow! What a great new artist coming up the ranks, Spencer. If you have never seen or heard Spencer, you are truly missing out. He is making a lot of noise and the noise has gotten louder with the release of his new music video, “Whatever”. Spotify unveiled his new single on the Billboard in Times square.
“Whatever”, is a love song about a girl that’s really special. This song has great meaning to Spencer. “There may be other girls you may have occasionally messed around with on and off, but they don’t really matter because you always come back to the perfect girl”, says Spencer. This song would be a great one to dedicate to that special someone letting them know they are truly the perfect person.
The video for “Whatever” brings the story in the song to life, with many special moments throughout. The video was shot all throughout LA wandering about the city. In the making of the video a few scenes they had a large crew involved, but for other shots he ditched the crew. For them to just take off and leave the crew, Spencer felt more of the authenticity that he wanted would be captured. He was correct, the realism is there.
When preparing to shoot the video, Spencer wanted something different that made a statement, he got it. It was decided it would be shot with a cell phone. This was a brilliant idea. This is how these special moments would have been captured by anyone out on the town having fun. It gave it more life. Spencer says, the director GAB3 was the genius behind the video. He also says, he and his manager J, GAB3 collaborated on the original concept, but made up a few scenes as they went along.
Spencer is back in the studio working on more songs. Be on the lookout for more to be released. He also has several live shows coming up and more videos. His fans can follow him on Twitter and Instagram
Inspiring people to be themselves and bring out their true personalities is something he hopes to accomplish. Spencer says, “Life is too short to cover up the real you”.
Florida’s teen singing sensation Samantha LaPorta pumps out hit songs one right after another. Having an emerging artist release hit after hit in such a short time frame, doesn’t happen often. But, when Samantha gets hold of a song, her abilities in delivering a song is mind blowing. In less than a year Samantha has released, Summertime Hold On Me, Santa’s Back In Business and I Know U Know.
Samantha being a Florida native she must have a special connection to the state within. When recording a song, Samantha has a natural ability to make it feel bright and fresh. The sunshine state has a special hold on her to where the listener can feel the brightness and freshness that she exudes throughout her music. Whether it is Christmas, summer or anywhere in between, it can be felt. People like foot tapping fun music that brightens their day, and Samantha delivers that without fail.
The brightness, and her delivery plays a big part in why people gravitate to her music. In December 2016 Samantha got a taste of just how much people love her music and her sound. While riding in the car listening to Disney Radio her and her mom heard the intro to, Santa’s Back In Business. This over whelmed them both. “We looked at each other and started screaming, grabbed my phone to share, but just couldn’t hold back the tears” says Samantha. The song became #2 on the Total Request show where fans vote for songs. People are loving it! Her latest release, I Know U Know has gained momentum quickly on Pandora with 58,000 streams this past week alone.
The music Samantha releases is infectious, and plays a large part in her success, but it takes a good team as well. The songs she has been releasing has had a great team of writers and producers behind them. Summertime Hold On Me and I Know U Know was written by Matt Wong and Maria Christiansen, and produced by Jason Nevins and Lucas Prata. Jason, he has produced and remixed songs for major artists, and Lucas is a recording artist, and is teaching her to navigate the music industry. “They are both very talented and I love working in the studio with them” says Samantha. Samantha co-wrote a song with Maria then another with Matt on her April trip to LA. She loved their ideas. It was exciting and an amazing experience for her. “It’s the difference between buying a beautiful dress and having one made just for you, where you get to add in your own style” says Samantha. Both of these songs can be heard on, iTunes, Amazon, Pandora, Google Play, I Heart Radio and Spotify.
These songs are fun in the sun type of songs, and that is exactly where the videos to them were filmed, the sunny beaches of Florida. The videographer is, Imagine Creation located in Mobil Alabama. They worked together to come up with the ideas. Se began thinking about what the song means, and then created a story that reflects the song. “Both videos were super fun to make because I asked my friends, Do you want to be in a music video, and we had a blast” says Samantha.
Samantha has also teamed up with Sweetyhigh. Sweetyhigh is a social media pop culture company with a great message about girl power and having fun in a positive way through entertainment. Her first trip to LA was like a dream, lots of meetings, Red Carpet movie premiere where she met Sweetyhigh and being welcomed to the Disney Family. “That was my dream come true. For as long as I can remember, I have always wanted to be a Disney Kid” says Samantha. Samantha did her first Musical.ly and Red Carpet interview with Sweetyhigh. “I am so thrilled that they like my music and have shared it” says Samantha.
On Samantha’s most recent trip to LA, she attended the Radio Disney Music Awards. “I couldn’t wait to see Britney Spears who was being honored with the Icon award” says Samantha. During this trip she was able to meet a few of her favorite Disney actors and artists.
The last trip to LA may have been to attend the awards and watch her favorites receive them, but next time, may just be her turn to receive. Samantha’s music is so bright and infectious, that people cannot resist Samantha along with her great team are working together on new songs. Her fans except more music infection very soon.
Katia is a powerful new teen sensation that is taking the country by storm. Originally from Miami she has hit LA hard with her edgy style of pop and not holding anything back. In her video “The Girl Can’t Help It” shows how fearless she is; not afraid to bring it and tell her story the way she wants it told. This video offers it all, a beautiful girl, “Katia”, great music, and excitement. Her artistry in this video has caught the attention of many people; it has only been up for a short while and has already gained close to quarter of million views. That is no great surprise with her talent as an actress and for Katia to show yet another side of her artistry by co-writing the song. The song is about girls who fall in love with the bad boy types, but they can’t help it because those boys always capture and break their hearts. Katia says this song tells the story of her first love and how hard it is for her to stay apart; at the end love does conquer. In the video you can see quite well where destiny is trying hard to keep her apart from her love, but love takes over and keeps them together. This song and video are true artistry at its finest. Katia is a megastar on the rise and Beyonce might as well move on over because there is no stopping this Latin princess from Miami, nothing is going to hold her back.
The great new pop wonder Katia Nicole was born in Miami; gaining inspiration from her mother as she was always singing around the house while she was growing up and by the age of nine, Katia had started singing, thus beginning her great career. She had always loved performing around the local areas of her hometown in Miami when she was starting out. Her first performance however was at a Freestyle venue in Orlando Florida. Since her start she has had many performances, but her favorite performances have all been for charity events. She wanted a way to be able to assist in helping people with their causes, be of help to her community and to be a leader.
Katia gains a great deal of inspiration from Jennifer Lopez because she worked her way up in the industry from a dancer. Katia says Jennifer has a very humbling story and is an amazing artist and role model for young Latin girls. Like Jennifer, Katia loves to entertain people and make them happy with her creative music and dancing. She wants to make sure that anyone that comes to see her will see a great show. Katia loves to see a big smile on her fans faces. She works very hard, not only to bring fans a great show, but ultimately to be signed and go on tour with a major artist.
Katia is a great artist, but she is also an actress. She has appeared on The Burn Notice, and has been in a few commercials. She was also able to participate as an extra on the smash movie hit “Step Up 4 Revolution” and “Disney” Latin webisode. She will be on a reality show coming up, one that shows how hard it is for kids trying to make it into the industry and the trials and tribulations they go through.
Just like many young people that try to make their way in the entertainment industry, she too has been through a lot on her journey. Katia has been ridiculed and bullied. She has been made fun of by kids, parents and professional people. Even through all the hard times she has learned to be humble and to be kind to people. She says no matter what, you have to keep pushing towards your dreams, goals and aspirations. All of this has a lot to do with why she chose to take the edgy road with her music, because life is not like the movies, it is hard, tough and many moments of shattered hearts. Katia also says that kids now a days want someone real, and someone they can relate to. She has brought just that through her style, lyrics and the way she carries herself artistically and personally. She wants her fan, family and friends to know that no matter what image she carries she will always try to be respectful in what she does.
Katia has so much going for her career and can always count on a great performance from her. It is for sure no fan, friend or family member will be disappointed with any of her shows. All of her shows will be completely entertaining and professional. Katia has all the character, skills and the style that will push her into the megastar category making her to be the one everyone will be looking up to for inspiration. On stage, “she” is unstoppable!
Hollis is a wonderful artist who is literally taking her unique voice from coast to coast. You can catch this great artist in NY one week and LA the next, she aims to get her music heard and she is doing just that. Hollis has that great uniqueness to her the same as Janis Joplin and she just might capture the music world the same as Janis and be loved by millions.
When Hollis was younger she sang for the National Children’s Choir and has performed in numerous professional theater productions throughout Connecticut and NY. She started singing at open mics and doing her own gigs when she was about thirteen, when she taught herself how to play the guitar and write her own songs.
Hollis has done many great performances in theater as well as a singer/songwriter. In musical theater one of her favorite performances was when she played Mary in Secret Garden. She loved this production because the music was so complex and intriguing, as well as loving the story and message. As a singer she really loved the Fusion Music Festival because there were five stages filled with young performers blending all types of music genres. She said it was a great way to meet other young artists that loved doing what she loved. Hollis has found herself on the local news for interviews and singing when she was promoting various musicals she was in. She has also won two National Best Young Actress Awards, for the National Youth Theater & The Broadway World Awards in 2012.
When it comes to performing Hollis loves to transform a song and make it into her own. She really likes putting her own personal touches to a song and watching the audience reactions. She says she pours her heart and energy into every performance and it is a really cool feeling when she can feel an audience’s energy too. She also says once you feel an audience’s energy it becomes addictive wanting it over and over. She wants people to connect and relate to her music on a personal level, and hopes to support herself with her music someday. This is a goal that has a great potential to become reality, and that amazing voice is going to make it happen.
Hollis does perform many covers from The Beatles to Jason Mraz and would make them all proud, but she is also a great writer herself and plans to capture the audiences with her own stories. She has already completed over 30 songs with a few still hanging uncompleted like most writers do. She has discovered that four of the songs, she has a special connection to. She said she is not sure why, but she has a hard time trying to define why in words, but they are about someone specific in her life and not just an idea like others. When she writes she gets a tune in her head on piano, guitar or ukulele. She becomes obsessed with the tune; it may take her a while, but then she will figure out a melody, then at some point an inspiration comes along that fits perfectly with that tune.
Hollis has a lot of great things coming up; she is currently working with a great publisher to get her songs published. She will also be performing at Fusion Music Festival again in November and NAMM in January. She also has many gigs in between these two major performances. There are always places and times to catch Hollis, she is performing at least 2 to 3 times per week in LA or NY, so don’t miss her.
For Hollis music just makes her happy, but she does not leave out the more important things is life such as her family. Her family is the most important thing in the world to her. She said that she is often told she needs to tap into some more “girly” things because she is such a tomboy. She loves to ski, hike, camp, fish, etc. She says if it is in the woods and surrounded by mud, her, her dad and brother will be all over it. Tomboy or not she makes some great music, and her unique voice adds so much character to everything she sings making it stand out. She is truly an awesome singer/songwriter.
